The epix supports the Russian GLONASS satellites

Wrist top GPS device which provides comprehensive navigation and tracking functionality as well as trip information about various outdoor activities. Pre-installed topographic recreational map of Europe. Easy to handle using buttons or touch screen.

A full-featured wrist watch for all kinds of outdoor activities including running, hiking, mountaineering, biking, winter sports, geocaching etc. Pre-installed topographic map of Europe with points of interest (POIs). The Topo model also includes a pre-installed topographic map of Switzerland. These maps do not support autorouting. However, the device features autorouting if an optional map is installed. The epix provides 8 GB memory to install such maps plus a barometrical altimeter and an electronic compass. Stores waypoints, routes and tracks and supports TracBack. Optional wireless HRM-Run heart rate monitor with G-sensor, cadence and temperature sensor. Water resistant to 50 m. Strong housing and scratch resistant mineral glass. Faster and more precise position tracking thanks to additional support for GLONASS satellites.

Note: It is not possible to install the topographic map of Switzerland later.

Garmin Connect Mobile If you have an iPhone or an Android smartphone, you may connect it with your epix using Bluetooth. Use this feature to download up-to-date weather forecasts and to share your position and workout data with your friends in real-time (live tracking). The free App GARMIN Connect Mobile must be installed on your smartphone in order to use this functionality.

  • Easy to read color display with background illumination (205 x 148 pixels).
  • Pre-installed topographical recreational map of Europe (does not support autorouting).
  • Topo model only: Pre-installed topographical map of Switzerland (does not support autorouting).
  • 8 GB of memory to install additional maps.
  • Multilingual user interface in Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian and Swedish.
  • Easy to operate using either the buttons or the touch screen.
  • Apps with individual settings for quick and easy switch between activities. There are pre-defined apps for the following activities: Run Indoor, Run, Trail Run, Bike, Bike Indoor, Pool Swim, Open Water, Hike, Climb, Ski / Board, XC Ski (cross country ski), Triathlon and you may add your own activities.
  • Integrated GPS receiver with very sensitive built-in antenna.
  • Barometrical altimeter for precise elevation recording¹, also measures air pressure for weather forecast.
  • Electronic 3D compass to check the heading while not moving (3D = tilt-compensated compass which does not require the device to be level for accurate readings).
  • HRM-Run chest belt with heart rate monitor and G-sensor available as an option. The chest belt uses a digitally coded signal, which means, once a heart beat sensor and the GPS have been paired, the GPS will never receive a conflicting signal from another sensor. So you can exercise in close proximity to other sensors without fear of interference.
  • Wireless data exchange via BlueTooth. Supports LiveTracking when connected with a supported smartphone.
  • Powered by built-in, rechargeable battery (lasts about 50 h with GPS on and up to 16 weeks in watch mode), battery charger included.
  • Short time to first fix (TTFF²: approx. 15 seconds after a warm start, meaning there are valid coordinates of the satellites available, or approx. 45 seconds after a cold start, meaning there are no valid coordinates of the satellites available).
  • Firmware stored in Flash-Memory, can be updated by the user.
  • Operating temperatures -20 .. 55°C (-4° .. 131°F).

  • Weight: 85 g (3 ounces).
  • ¹) Even though a GPS provides accurate elevation information, the value slightly varies continuously. A barometrical altimeter is therefore more accurate, especially when summarizing elevation changes.
  • ²) TTFF: Time To First Fix, time until the first information about the current position is acquired.

Information for navigation:

  • Pre-installed topographic recreational map of Europe with pan and zoom function, does not support autorouting
